Chicken Shawarma Crepe Strips
Ingredients
For the Crepe:
.2 ¼ cups warm water
.2 cups milk
.1 egg
.A pinch of black pepper
.1 teaspoon salt
.1 teaspoon vinegar
.3 tablespoons oil
.3 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
For the Chicken Shawarma
.3 chicken breasts
.2 tablespoons yogurt
.1 teaspoon crushed garlic
.½ teaspoon salt
.½ teaspoon black pepper
.1 tablespoon paprika
.½ teaspoon thyme
.½ teaspoon cumin
.¼ teaspoon turmeric
.¼ teaspoon cardamom
.1 tablespoon onion powder
.2 tablespoons lemon juice
.½ teaspoon sugar
.2 tablespoons oil
.1 tablespoon ghee
Instructions
Making the Crepe:
In a large bowl, mix the warm water, milk, egg, and a pinch of black pepper.
Add the salt, vinegar, and oil. Then, gradually add the flour while whisking continuously until you have a smooth batter free of lumps.
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and lightly grease it with oil. Pour a portion of the crepe batter into the pan and spread it out evenly.
Cook the crepe for about a minute on each side until lightly golden brown
Making the Chicken Shawarma:
In a large bowl, place the chicken breasts after slicing them into thin strips.
Add the yogurt, garlic, salt, black pepper, paprika, thyme, cumin, turmeric, cardamom, onion powder, lemon juice, and sugar. Mix everything well.
Let the chicken marinate for at least half an hour.
In a large pan, heat the ghee and oil together over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until it is golden and completely done.
Serving:
Place a layer of shawarma inside the crepe and roll it up, or serve it with garlic sauce and french fries.
